Mr. Steven E. Jones, CHCM, Senior Vice President and COO of Raba Kistner Environmental (RKE) is pleased to announce the promotion of Rick V. Klar, PG to Vice President of the firm. Rick has been with RKE since 1996 and currently serves as the Manager of Operations for RKE, in addition to the corporate discipline leader for geosciences services. He is directly responsible for leading, guiding, evaluating, and supporting the work of environmental project staff, in addition to weekly operational planning and resource allocation. Rick also interacts with other RK companies as necessary to provide environmental support for complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
Rick is a registered Professional Geoscientist in the state of Texas and is responsible for implementing/overseeing site exploration and characterization activities in support of due diligence (Phase I, II, and III ESA) assessments, contamination assessments and remedial action plan development, soil and groundwater remediation projects, water quality/resources investigations, aggregate reserves planning, groundwater protection, in addition to a wide range of other environmental project types. His project experience includes design and implementation of innovative site assessment approaches and strategies to address regulatory requirements and meet our Client’s long-term planning and project objectives. Representative project experience includes geological mapping, karst feature surveys, surface and subsurface sampling of environmental media, landfill-gas and ground-water monitoring/recovery well design and installation, hydrogeologic investigations, and ground geophysical surveys.

Mr. Klar is currently a member of the Alamo Air and Waste Management Association in addition to the National Ground Water Association. He received his M.S. in Applied Geology (Hydrogeology) from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1996 and his B.S. in Earth Sciences from Saint Mary’s University in 1992.

Greg came to Project Control in 2007 with over 20 years of experience in project management and civil engineering related fields in both the public and private sectors. Greg immediately served as project manager for Haven for Hope of Bexar County in the creation of their transformation facility for the homeless near downtown San Antonio. Greg is currently providing project management for a major banking client on national expansion projects.
This promotion recognizes her movement to take on more responsibility for the firm and its subsidiaries, including marketing materials and ad design, vendor coordination, HTML and social media production and coordination. San Antonio communications veteran John Worthington has been promoted to executive vice president/chief communications officer for Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU), responsible for leading the credit union’s programs for legislative affairs; community service; public relations; and industry, civic and trade association participation.
Prior to joining SSFCU in 1994 as vice president of marketing, Worthington served for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, holding key public affairs positions including assignments in the Pentagon with the Air Force Office of Public Affairs and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He also served as Commander of the Air Force Broadcasting Service, directing Air Force broadcast activities around the world.

Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) announced today that J.T. Cody has been promoted to Executive Vice President, General Counsel. Employed with the credit union since 1997, Cody started his career with SSFCU as a staff attorney and has advanced steadily to positions of increased responsibility. His new role has expanded his responsibilities significantly and includes oversight of several business units, including Legal, Commercial Services, Security Service Investment Group, Human Resources, Facilities and Business Development.
A graduate of Texas A&M University and St. Mary’s University Law School, Cody has more than 14 years experience in the credit union industry.
