The City of San Antonio will host the NetWORKS IT event October 24

The City of San Antonio will host the NetWORKS IT event this October to develop local small/ minority/ woman-owned business enterprises (S/M/WBEs) engaged in the Information Technology (IT) industry. This event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Geekdom, 112 E. Pecan Street, San Antonio, Texas.

NetWORKS will bridge the gap between S/M/WBEs in IT and established technology firms and buyers. Specifically, we seek to foster the development of our local IT Firms by providing instruction and resources on how to become certified and authorized dealers, licensed vendors, distributors, and/or service providers of name brand high end technologies.

In addition, we plan to help our local businesses connect with large IT companies and manufacturers to bridge the gap between the products/services offered, and those emerging in the industry. This will be accomplished through informational seminars as well as break-out sessions with purchasing agencies and private companies detailing the specifics on how to do business with them.

Given that the Department of Information Resources’ (DIR) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Cooperative Contracts pose a significant opportunity for our local S/M/WBEs, we will also include a seminar detailing how to participate as a vendor on DIR Cooperative Contracts.

Availability is limited, so register today – time slots with CISCO, Hewlett Packard (HP), Hitachi, and IBM representatives will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
