San Antonio’s largest food drive collects frozen turkeys at the annual Turkey Round-Up

Security Service Federal Credit Union (FCU) has partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank for the 10th consecutive year to host the annual Holiday Turkey Round-Up.  The one-day, 12-hour event is held during the Food 4 SA Campaign and collects Thanksgiving turkeys to put on the plates of hungry families across Southwest Texas. Security Service volunteers will collect frozen turkeys, canned goods and cash for the San Antonio Food Bank on Saturday, November 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at two Security Service FCU locations:  1604/Bandera (9253 N. Loop 1604 W) and De Zavala (12707 IH-10 W).

“San Antonio is an incredibly giving city and we’re looking to make this year’s campaign the most successful yet,” said David Reynolds, president and chief executive officer for Security Service FCU.  “With just a $10 donation, the Food Bank can buy a turkey for a family in need this Thanksgiving.  Anything you can give will help make a difference.”

During the month of November, individuals can drop off nonperishable food and monetary donations at any one of the 26 Security Service FCU service centers in San Antonio, Boerne, Pleasanton, Castroville, Schertz and New Braunfels. The goal of this year’s campaign is to collect one million pounds of food.
