David White, Raba Kistner Consultants, Inc., earns rare designation for Building Envelope Services

raba kistner logoPortraitsPaul Lampe,  Executive Vice President of Raba Kistner Consultants (RKCI), has announced that David White, RRC, RRO, CDT, CEI, CIT, RWC,  Senior Roofing Consultant and Manager of Building  Envelope Services for the firm, has earned the title REGISTERED WATERPROOFING CONSULTANT (RWC) from RCI, Inc.*  White qualified for this designation by meeting the requirements of a rigorous two-part program based on verifiable levels of education, ethics and experience, and successfully completing a challenging examination.

“David is one of about 70 Registered Waterproofing Consultants in the U.S. and Canada who have this certification,” said Lampe. “We are pleased to be able to offer this level of experience, training and confidence to our building envelope clients.”

David has been with Raba Kistner since 2011. As Senior Roofing Consultant, Mr. White is responsible for Raba-Kistner’s Roofing Inspection, Surveys, Design and Consulting capabilities. His primary duties consist of facilities project management with emphasis on scope development, budget estimates, roofing inspection reports, surveys, roofing redesigns, and engineering solutions with attendant specifications.

David graduated from Southwest Texas University in 2001.

Raba Kistner Facilities announces hire of Jonathan Houston, PE, LEED GA

RK Facilities_cmykJonathan J. Houston, PE, LEED GA has joined Raba Kistner Facilities team. Mr. Houston serves as a Project Manager under company Program Management services. His primary responsibilities include supporting and managing different types of facility forensic investigations, audits, and energy consulting programs. He is also responsible for facility capital planning, oversight of facility MEP system design and construction, facility maintenance and operations consulting.

Jonathan HoustonMr. Houston has six years of management and technical experience with a primary focus in energy and water efficiency.  His experience includes supervision of operations and maintenance on 5,700 acres of property, energy and water auditing of federal facilities, and energy program management.  He has performed engineering and economic analysis on heating and cooling systems, lighting systems, and renewable energy systems of up to 1 megawatt capacity, with the goal of determining life cycle cost effectiveness and feasibility.

Mr. Houston’s immediate past responsibilities included serving as an energy program manager at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as part of the Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM). Mr. Houston’s years of military experience resulted in a proven record of outstanding performance in coordination with federal agencies to facilitate project execution.

Mr. Houston graduated from Texas A&M University in 2007 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has served as an Army Engineer Officer for the last 6 years.

Raba Kistner, Inc. announces appointment of Dr. Robert R. Costigan, PhD, PE to lead Facilities Group

Costigan, PhD, PE, PMP, CFM, LEED GA, has accepted the position of Senior Vice President and COO of Raba Kistner Facilities, Inc. Dr. Costigan has over 40 years of world-wide facility engineering experience, including roles as a project engineer, project manager, and program manager.

Bob Costigan_High Res_ColorDr. Costigan has been with Raba Kistner Consultants, Inc., since 2006 serving as President and COO of that company until tapped for his current role with Raba Kistner Facilities.

Dr. Costigan has over 40 years of managerial and technical leadership on projects involving multi-disciplines for public and private sector clients nationwide, encompassing facility and infrastructure planning, design, repair and restoration.

While in the United States Air Force, Lt. Colonel Costigan had extensive experience in complex facility program and project management providing leadership to over 400 engineering, technical, and construction-trade personnel in operating, repairing, and maintaining the physical plant of a major air force base.

Dr. Costigan received a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri, and his bachelor’s degree from the Virginia Military Institute – all in civil engineering.  Dr. Costigan is a registered professional engineer in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, Mississippi, and Arizona and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facility Management Association, and as a LEED Green Associate from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Raba Kistner Facilities/Project Control Make the Starting Line Up for Redevelopment of Kyle Field

Raba Kistner Facilities/Project Control was selected as Program Manager for the Texas A&M Kyle Field Redevelopment in November 2012. Since that time, they have been working on the Phase I Re-development Plan, which incorporated conceptual planning, logistics, schedule and budget creation. Kyle field will become the largest stadium in the Southeastern Conference now that university regents have approved the $450 million redevelopment plan. The stadium’s capacity will increase from 82,589 to 102,500 seats in the expansion. The renovation will begin after the 2013 football season and should be finished for the 2015 season.

The team will continue to play in the stadium during construction. A new façade for the stadium will be built, with new exterior plaza areas that will accommodate tailgating and stadium access. Interior improvements will feature increased chair-back seating, more suites, boxes and premium seating with club areas. The latest game day technology, wider concourses, more restrooms and better concession areas describe more of the improvements.
