#SanAntonioMuseumofArt announces publication of two more books in Arte Kids bilingual children’s series

SAMA logoThe San Antonio Museum of Art announces the publication of the last two books in a series of five bilingual board books for young children. Featuring artwork from the Museum’s collection, the Arte Kids books are collaboration between Trinity Press, the Library Foundation and the Museum. The two new titles, Black & Blanco! and Animal Amigos, join Colores Everywhere!, Hello Ciruclos! and 123 Si!

TFilled with colorful art images and whimsical words, these best-selling, award-winning books foster literacy while inspiring passion for the arts in young hearts and minds.   “We see how we can be a leader and a national model for reaching a bilingual audience and for connecting museums to early childhood education,” said Katie Luber, director of the San Antonio Museum of Art.

SAMA book coverThe Museum sells the books in its shop, as do more than twenty museum stores across the country including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. In addition to sales through national retailers such as Target and educational distributors Scholastic International, The San Antonio Public Library Foundation’s Born to Read program makes Arte Kids books a centerpiece of the Literacy Bags given to each newborn in Bexar County hospitals.  Born to Read reaches over 25,000 families a year—a powerful intervention in the city’s illiteracy rate.

The Museum has recently introduced a self-guided Counting Tour for Kids as a companion piece to 123 Sí!
