FOCUS: The Leadership & Professional Development Council offers specialized and advanced leadership and professional development to encourage and support our community’s leaders. This Council promotes leadership cultivation designed to assist business people in building professional connections and acquiring cutting-edge thinking and best practices.

Danny Zimmermann, PE is Principal and co-founder of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, responsible for managing the firm’s business and financial affairs. Danny supervises strategic business development initiatives, marketing, accounting, legal matters, IT, and many of the firm’s policies and procedures.

As a Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager, Danny has provided design and executive oversight for a wide array of projects, including academic facilities, hospitals, surgery centers and clinics, clinical and research laboratories, retirement communities, and public and private facilities. Danny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.

Danny is active in his local community and volunteers his time for numerous philanthropic organizations. He presently chairs the Texas A&M University-San Antonio Foundation board; is past- president of the Comal Education Foundation; and sits on the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce board.  Along with his wife, April, Danny is a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) whereby he is a voice for abused children in court.  He is a past-president and director for the UTSA Alumni Association Board and has served in several other community service capacities throughout his career.



CULTIVATE leadership skills in the Leadership Lab series, an award-winning and innovative approach to leadership development targeted to San Antonio’s up-and-coming business leaders from the corporate, non-profit and small business environments. This nine-month training program is based on the most current thinking, research and best practices in leadership development focusing on five core elements including: professional performance, leadership, management, community service and self-awareness.

About the Chair:

After years of working in healthcare and customer service, an opportunity to switch gears and join the banking industry was made available. Jose began his career in banking managing a team in a customer service call center. Later, he transitioned into branch banking where he has built his career over the last 10+ years. Jose has been able to work with clients in all industries and partnered with every line of business of the bank. He is currently Vice President and Branch Manager for the Corporate Banking Center of Amegy Bank.

After attending the North SA Chamber Leadership Lab in 2015, Jose was drawn to the camaraderie, professional development, and networking opportunities made possible by continued involvement with the alumni. Being nominated and elected to serve as president of the alumni board in 2019 was a great privilege and offered him the opportunity to further contribute to one of San Antonio’s finest business leadership organizations. Jose went on to Co-Chair the 2020 Class and then to Chair the program in 2021 for the Best Class Ever.

About the Program: Leadership Lab is an award-winning, nine-month leadership development program designed to bring the most current leadership development principles, research and best-practices to its participants. It focuses on 5 core elements of professional performance, leadership, management, community service and self-awareness. Participants are immersed in the program which includes self-assessments for understanding their leadership style and skills, developing a Career Strategy Plan aligned with developmental goals and receive one-on-one career coaching. This transformational leadership program is specifically designed to provide North SA Chamber members a learning environment outside of their organization to develop their future leaders and connect them with the community to develop beneficial business relationships.

About the Program: The Leadership Lab Alumni Association is an unincorporated affiliate of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and serves the alumni of the North SA Chamber Leadership Lab program by supporting and fostering the relationships developed by participation in Lab; providing alumni ongoing opportunities for leadership development and the establishment of new business and personal relationships; providing support and resources to Lab participants and to Association members; enhancing the image and visibility of Lab and alumni in the community; and marketing association members to other business members of the Chamber.
