St. George Episcopal Church presents Marriage Seminar – Four Stages of Marriage

The most important relationship we have, outside of our relationship with God, is our marital relationship. It is the relationship upon which families are built. Families are the foundation stones upon which a society rests. In fact, you can tell the health of a society by the health of the families that create it.

Since 1969, when the “no fault” divorce law was created in California, marital life has been threatened. At this moment the divorce rate is still around 48% for first time marriages. We have learned over the last 20 years that the impact divorce has on children is catastrophic. In the past a great deal of pressure was put on a married couple to stay together by the church, families, and society in general. That has all changed and now the motivation to work through marital issues and create lasting marriages has to come from within us.

St. George Episcopal Church invites you to attend a marriage seminar on Thursday, March 27, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at our Parish Hall located at 6904 West Avenue. Come and learn about the four stages of marriage and how you can strengthen your marriage by seeing which stage you are in, and learn about the tasks you need to accomplish to get to the next stage. We will also discuss communication patterns and the “Four Horseman” that can destroy a marriage along with the repair techniques that are critical to create a healthy marriage.

Tom and Sandy Preininger will be doing the presentation. They have been married 15 years and are still on their honeymoon. Tom is a former Catholic priest and has been doing psychotherapy and marital counseling for 23 years. Sandy has been a school teacher for 43 years. Learn more
