Raba Kistner Environmental, Inc. announces the hire of Alex Bartos as Environmental Professional/Project Manager

RK Environmental_cmykRaba Kistner Environmental (RKE) has announced the hire of Alex Bartos to serve as Project Manager in the areas of Environmental Site Assessments, hazardous materials evaluations and  subsurface investigations.  Mr. Bartos brings over 12 years of applicable experience and technical expertise in the environmental consulting field.

Mr. Bartos’s experience includes managing environmental assessments and remediation projects for oil and gas, pipeline, utilities, developers and industrial clients. His current responsibilities include planning and directing subsurface soil and groundwater assessments, remedial strategies, and regulatory review, and reporting for projects under the purview of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Rail Road Commission of Texas.

Alex BartosIn addition to providing environmental assessment services, Mr. Bartos has completed spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans (SPCC), storm-water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), pollution prevention plans (P3), and Tier II reporting for industrial clients’ compliance requirements.

He has directed projects and coordinated activities in the TCEQ Innocent Owner/Operator Program (IOP), Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), Dry Cleaner Remediation Program (DCRP), and the RRC Operator Cleanup Program (OCP).

Mr. Bartos received his BS in Environmental Science (Chemistry) from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2011.

Dr. Costigan has over 40 years of managerial and technical leadership on projects involving multi-disciplines for public and private sector clients nationwide, encompassing facility and infrastructure planning, design, repair and restoration.

While in the United States Air Force, Lt. Colonel Costigan had extensive experience in complex facility program and project management providing leadership to over 400 engineering, technical, and construction-trade personnel in operating, repairing, and maintaining the physical plant of a major air force base.

Dr. Costigan received a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri, and his bachelor’s degree from the Virginia Military Institute – all in civil engineering.  Dr. Costigan is a registered professional engineer in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, Mississippi, and Arizona and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facility Management Association, and as a LEED Green Associate from the U.S. Green Building Council.

This is a distinguished award that is given annually to one engineer under the age of 34 who has exhibited outstanding leadership and technical advancement early in his career. Ian was honored at the Proclamation Breakfast during Engineers Week this past February.

Mr. Perez’s role will be to expand RABA KISTNER’s Geotechnical and Construction Materials practice areas in New Braunfels and the I-35 Corridor.

Ian joined RKCI as an engineering intern in 2001, and continued his internship during college breaks.  He is a graduate from Texas A&M with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering. Ian joined RABA KISTNER as a full time employee in January 2005, and successfully passed the professional engineering examination in 2008.

The Brandt Companies selected for mechanical design and construction services on new Forest Park Medical Center

Recently, The Brandt Companies, LLC was selected by Rogers-O’Brien Construction for mechanical design and construction services on their new Forest Park Medical Center project in San Antonio. This will be Brandt’s third hospital in the Forest Park system, following complete and in-progress facilities at Frisco and Southlake in the Dallas area. The building encompasses approximately 150,000 SF, including 50 beds and VIP suites, 12 state-of-the-art fully integrated operating suites, full service imaging and emergency room.
