PAID SICK LEAVE UPDATE
The Paid Sick Leave Ordinance is on hold until December 1, 2019, under an agreement between the City and local business organizations that will stay the original August 1, 2019 implementation date. Subcommittees reviewing the ordinance continue to meet in an attempt to make the ordinance palatable to the business community. The subcommittees are divided into key areas: Definition/Qualification, Compliance/Governance, Legal Considerations, Research/Studies Best Practices, and Execution.

CLIMATE ACTION PLAN UPDATE
A draft of San Antonio's new Climate Action & Adaption Plan was released on August 21, 2019. The draft focuses on strategies to reduce greenhouse gases, preparing for a changing climate, and methods that will help implement a new plan. This is an ongoing discussion that requires feedback from the community before an official vote will be taken by City Council on October 17th.

GRAND OPENING OF LIME'S REGIONAL REPAIR CENTER

This month, we celebrated North Chamber Member, Lime, with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate their second location in San Antonio.“This is Lime’s investment in and commitment to the City of San Antonio,” Lime General Manager Erica Liu said at the ribbon-cutting. We look forward to continuing to work with Lime as they grow in Texas.

In honor of his legacy for promoting international relations and global trade for San Antonio, the International Business Forum has been renamed in honor of Tom C. Frost.
“While my father supported many different interests in the San Antonio region, he strongly advocated for global business development and fostered trade relationships with Japan, Mexico, and others we continue to see benefits from today,” said Pat Frost, President of Frost Bank. “We are honored to see his name associated with an event that continues that work."
