ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

The North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Council serves as a resource and advocate for economic development policy for our members and stakeholders in the following ways:

  • Engagement with the key economic stakeholders in our region, including Greater:SATX, the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, and the private sector to develop a better understanding of available tools, proposed policies, and other resources for our members.
  • Advocacy with regional policymaking on rules, regulations, and laws that impact economic vitality in our community, including incentive, and tax abatement programs, special districts, annexation and growth, requirements that increase the cost of doing business and developing in our community, and use of local businesses for government contracts.
  • Educate our members about new policies and available resources.

2024 Objective: The Council will establish regular meetings/ programs for members to interact with economic development policymakers and stakeholders while identifying challenges and opportunities with local regulations that directly or indirectly impact economic growth.
