Membership dues are deductible as a business expense to the extent allowed by law. In compliance with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, the portion of membership dues used to contact, lobby or inform federal or state officials is no longer deductible as a business expense. However, the North Chamber has chosen to pay the tax on this amount so your dues are still 100 percent deductible.
